Language ideologies and second language acquisition: the case of French long-term residents in Sweden

The present study investigates the possible impact of language ideologies on second proficiency. Based interviews and a thematic analysis, we explored among French long-term residents in Stockholm, Sweden. participants had contrasting proficiency levels host community language: five were categorised as low-performers Swedish high-performers Swedish, based two linguistic measures.
